"I've known Steve and James since we played junior golf together, and they've created something really special for London's golfers. I know they are both deeply passionate about making golf easy and convenient for golfers to access, understand and play."
"Steve is a fantastic coach, it's been a pleasure to receive instruction from him. London Golf School is without question the coolest place to take golf lessons"
"Steve Smith is rapidly establishing a reputation for being a top-class golf coach – logically I have entrusted the development of my own game to his expertise"
"I can't speak highly enough about James Ellis. He's got a way of simplifying the game in One's mind. By this I mean trusting him in removing all previous out-dated methods and ideas derived from various sources that usually clutters your head when you stand over a golf ball. I've had 7 lessons with him now and he's enabled me to swing consistently without effort, given me a process for my erratic short game and best of all given me confidence to be free, keep it simple and enjoy myself on a golf course. Top bloke and top coach!"
"When I went to see James Ellis my game was a mess, my head was a mess and I wasn't sure whether I wanted to continue my 27-year love affair with golf. Through his boundless knowledge, infectious enthusiasm and proven methods, he managed what any number of shrinks, doctors and happy pills have failed to do by getting me to clear my mind and focus on the simple things. I doubted whether anyone could get me back to playing well but James not only improved my technique, he got me thinking about the game in a totally new way. This is the way golf should be taught."
"-kitted out with the latest golf simualtors and a high-tech Performance Centre for both instruction and club-fitting. It was fascinating getting to grips with the technology that has impressed even Luke Donald..."
"Dear Steve, I just wanted to write to say thank you so much on behalf of the entire production team for your help with our golf game on the recent Red or Black 2.
You were great to work with in those very early stages - the game didn't change whatsoever in the 3 months after that - a testament to a very successful and fruitful test day.
The making of the second series has been a great success and we're thrilled with the results and I hope you will be too when it airs on ITV in the late summer. The show is due to transmit in late August for seven consecutive Saturday Nights and will be shown either side of 'The X factor' on ITV1 and ITV1HD.
Thank you once again for your help and support. I hope to pop down to Urban Golf very soon to have a game and maybe a pint!
Yours Sincerely, John Adams"
"Hi Steve, You may recall I was trying to improve my golf in preparation for a week in the Algarve in November with my parents and 3 rounds of golf.
I’m pleased to say that thanks to your lessons I played the best I’ve played since I was a junior! 3 solid rounds playing to around 9-12 handicap on tricky courses. Hitting the ball so much straighter. They only thing that let me down was bunker shots and we didn’t get to practice those…..Thanks so much for all your tips – you massively helped my game!"
“As a Beginner I had one lesson at a golf club, and was reprimanded for wearing denims, making me feel most unwelcome. The experience very nearly put me off golf for good. This is by all accounts not unusual I have come to understand. Undaunted, and 6 Urban Golf Lessons later, I cannot imagine a better environment in which to learn what can often be a foreboding game. They have installed in me not only an understanding of the swing, and short game, but have been enlightened me as to golf club etiquette and golf’s basic rules and some of the many simulated golf course - and had great fun doing it. I’ll be heading for the course with the confidence of a Pro!. I cannot thank my coach James enough!"
"I could not recommend Steve more highly. I was two weeks away from a golfing holiday with some friends. My game was an absolute mess and my head was full of a dozen swing thoughts. Playing golf was no-longer fun and I was giving quitting completely some serious thought. In a last ditch effort, before my holiday, I came for a lesson at Urban Golf. Steve had me hit a few balls on the simulator then listened to me go on (and on) about what i thought to be the problems with my swing. Steve listened to me then gave me some very simple instruction. By the end of my lesson I was swinging consistently. A second lesson instilled confidence that when I was preparing to play my shot i would make a solid connection. On holiday I carded my lowest score in three years and fell back in love with golf. I only wish I'd gone for a lesson with Steve a couple of years ago. Thanks very much for the lessons."
"Steve, I wanted to thank you for the lesson last week, which definitely paid huge dividends over the weekend; by relaxing my arms and letting them flow through rather than trying to whack the ball meant my score came down from c125 to 101! (It would actually have been 99 but for an unnecessary 5 putt disaster on the 18th green, but I was pleased anyway!) Thanks v much and see you again soon"
"Steve. Firstly, wanted to let you know that I played better than I could have imagined at my company golf day last week in Miami. Didn't get to finish the round because of meetings, but at the 12th, when I left, I was beating a colleauge who's been playing for 10 years. He was gutted! Thanks for getting me there in 2 months!"
"Shot 88, scored 43 points! Accused of being a bandit! :-) handicap cut to 18. Cheers Coach!"
“Yesterday was the Scratch competition for the Silver Division. . .Won it with a gross 84 against a par of 74. . .Putter felt good. . .Don't you love it when a plan comes together !” x P.S. THANK YOU!!"
